I had discussion on RootsChat regarding a Christopher Klein, sugar baker, in late 1700s. The OP had Christopher working at the Ayr sugarhouse 1773, but further research, by a number of folks, over the next few days produced information regarding Christopher marrying in London, and eventually, a will for him, noted as a merchant, in Burntisland, Fife, Scotland.

Nothing came of that, however. It's now 2023, and I've been hunting for more sugar info in the newspapers and found a couple of pieces referring to a sugar house in Burntisland. There's also an article by Burntisland Heritage Trust that tries to piece it all together. In short ...
